Representations

"Gathering ordinary household objects, I first whitewash them with house paint, and then draw directly onto their surfaces with charcoal or graphite. The resulting images present visual hybrids that appear to vacillate between drawing and photography, black-and-white and color, signifier and signified, and question the concept of photographic truth and its correspondence to perceived reality. No digital manipulation is involved, but the camera’s angle of view is imperative in order to create the illusion. " Her website  www.cynthiagreig.com/art/index.htm
