Champagne Fame
Some wines are worthy of your most special celebration.
Some wines make any old day a special celebration!
This champagne is both!
You may have seen the New York Times's
Champagne tasting article last week.
They tasted 20, listed the best 10,
and named
Pierre Moncuit's Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs
as their Best Value.
That wine (officially the cuvée Pierre Moncuit Delos) is a pure Chardonnay from the finest chalk soils in the middle slope of Le Mesnil sur Oger (which Madame Moncuit insists is the best part of the village, which is probably true since that's also where the Clos de Mesnil is located), which along with Oger, Avize, and Cramant forms the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The Delos is produced in tiny quantities and is a jewel of elegance, finesse, and intensity. (And value, of course.)
This champagne is as clean and refined as any wine could be, with gorgeous Chablis-like (it's really unmistakable) directness and minerality melded with a beautifully integrated extra dimension of textural and tactile appeal.
We have a limited quantity of this Grand Cru. Stop in, or call to reserve.
