L-R: Elizabeth Atkinson, Sarah Dillard, Chris Van Dusen

Come to a reception and book signing Upstairs @ The General following the Warner Free Lecture, "Harvard's Own Authors: Atkinson, Dillard, Van Dusen."

Don't miss this rare opportunity to meet or reconnect with these three authors for younger audiences who all used to call Harvard home:

  • Elizabeth Atkinson is the author of quirky, heartfelt middle school novels, including her latest, The Island of Beyond. Raised in Harvard and now splitting her time between Mass. and Maine, Elizabeth has received recognition for From Alice to Zen (Banks Street College's Best Children's Books), I, Emma Freke (starred School Library Journal review), and The Sugar Mountain Snow Ball (2016 Maine Literary Finalist)
  • Sarah Dillard is a Harvard native who now resides in Waitsfield, Vermont. Sarah is a critically acclaimed children's book author and illustrator known for her debut picture book Perfectly Arugula, the Extraordinary Warren series, and the Mouse Scouts chapter books.
  • Chris Van Dusen also grew up in Harvard and now lives in Camden, Maine. He writes and illustrates his own award-winning picture books, including Circus Ship, King Hugo's Huge Ego, and the Mr. Magee books. He also illustrates children's books by other authors, among them Kate DiCamillo's Mercy Watson books and the Tales from Deckawoo Drive series.

Concord Bookshop will be on hand to facilitate the signing and purchase of books. Click here for an article from the Harvard Press about the Warner Free Lecture that precedes the reception.
